Alie completed her Bachelor of Arts at Trent University while working part time at the Learning Disabilities Association of Peterborough (LDAP). At LDAP, Alie developed her teaching skills and strategies by working with youth that were on the Autism Spectrum. Alie graduated with honours at Trent University, then immediately began her Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University the following term. She completed her Bachelor of Education in the Aboriginal Teacher Education Program (ATEP) and specializes in Aboriginal Education.
Currently Alie is a full time teacher at Astolot Educational Centre. She feels at home working with students who are exceptional learners. She enjoys establishing a personal connection with her students and using their strengths to conquer the areas they struggle in. She develops personal behaviour assessment charts and incorporates social skill development into everyday lessons.
Alie is a High School and Intermediate teacher. She is a Social Science and English teacher who has a passion for History and Geography. Alie also teaches the Indigenous Studies courses at Astolot, and integrates Indigenous Studies into the course material of other Social Sciences.
