Cat completed her Bachelor of Arts at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She double-majored in Classics (the study of Ancient Greece, Rome, and the Mediterranean) and English. She completed her Bachelor of Education at the University of Ottawa, with a focus on intermediate and senior English and History. During her time at uOttawa, she was also a member of the Urban Education Cohort, which gave her the opportunity to work in an urban priority high school, with refugee students and students from low-income families.
After completion of teacher education, Cat moved to Norwich, England where she worked as a supply teacher. When she moved back to Ottawa, she worked as a scorer for EQAO, and completed a Masters in Education at the University of Ottawa with a focus on “Leadership, Evaluation, Curriculum, and Policy Studies.” Last year, Cat worked as a supply teacher for the Western Quebec School Board. Cat also tutors English to students.
Currently, Cat is a full-time teacher at Astolot Educational Centre and is excited to begin this new chapter in her life. She has experience supply teaching exceptional students and is eager to work with exceptional students on a full-time basis. Cat’s philosophy is to spread a love for life-long learning, and cater to each student’s needs and preferences.
